Thoughts, Words, Lyrics From a Ride
Perspective

Sometimes I’m a speck surrounded by sea.
Sometimes I’m just a speck.
And sometimes - I’m just me.
It’s not a bad idea.

Lure me summit and I step all the way.
Like a moon call me from it; a cloud in the distant day.
Dressed to soothe one stride from it; talkers they walk away.
I’m in the mood don’t rush me from it; I think I know I am here today.
Foresake me sky clear.
Cross on a box - what does it say?
It’s not a bad idea.
Like air - I wish it were here to stay.
Come on alone, bygone, watching a distant me.
This can be the throne, a stumble down - personal enemy.
Vision the eyes can pierce - under a layer of melody.
I could be sounding kind of fierce - it only doesn’t want this to be.
Share thee sky clear.
Cross on a box - what does it say?
It’s not a bad one here.
Like air - I wish it were here to stay.
Tidal Rim (The Clear Road Song)
m.j.jackson ©wfm 2001
Clouds come a-rolling in, and I pedal on slowly.
Grey air the perfect tinge - so I look to the sky.
Rain drop touch upon my skin, and it thinks that I’m lonely.
Drops and dust they’re mixin’ it, so I pedal on down.
Leaning back I breathe it in, and I’m living this only.
Foreign man he’s come and been, so I keep it to me.
The simple rain won’t bother him, weatherproof rotund sentry.
Paths are leading me from him, now my pedals are done.
--- I keep falling for the sky,
--- The contours breathing for my eye,
--- And when my heart beat’s in decline I’ll be fireside.
Roads come on winding here, and I pedal on strongly.
Time comes in with the air, so I breathe it in slowly.
Wheel upon the tidal rim, it is tumblin’ freely.
Stars they read my every whim - make me a friend for the eve.
--- I keep on falling for the sky,
--- The contours breathing for my eye,
--- And when I find my heart’s desire I’ll get fireside.
More Than a Thousand Miles
m.j.jackson ©wfm 2001
You only want me ‘cuz I’m new.
You only picked me from the pile because I glisten - ain’t that true.
I (you) walked into that room.
--- And she said “Are you gonna take me?”
--- He said “You’re just what I’ve been looking for.”
The hands they felt like they belonged.
They ran a course along her contours with a gentleness so strong.
He knew this was the one.
--- “Are you gonna take me?” she said.
--- “I’ve been looking for you for so long”
The scent it caught him by surprise.
He thought he’d never make the choice so smartly - it was in his eyes.
Time and fortune will decide.
He sees his heart and money fly.
He shares the eve--nings with her ...and now I can only breathe a silent sigh.
A life to travel by and by.
--- “Where’re you gonna take me?” he said
--- Her here and now had come so...
--- “Where’re you gonna take me?” she said
--- His here and now had come so...
--- “I'll take you where you take me” they said
--- Their here and now had come so soon.
Now a thousand miles won't break their hearts.
But a thousand more might be the catalyst to make them never want to be apart.
A step's the way to start.
From Where I Stand
m.j.jackson ©wfm 2001
From where I stand
the street light glows.
An orange glow,
but the sunset’s red from where I stand.
From where I stand
the stars emerge.
Like a sand dune’s surge.
You’ll find this said from where I stand.
From where I stand
the pegs are tapped,
with short sharp raps,
but don’t get drawn from where I stand.
From where I stand
no one else seems to see.
But I can see
a world turns round from where I stand.
From where I stand
You’ll see it’s hard.
It’s hard to see
who’s in command from where I stand.
Until I Fall

Well she had taken-on-the-world... and won.
She had made-a-little-change, see her - she’s not the only one.
Now her opening-of-arms... has gone.
I’ll be chasing-on-a-dream... that might bring me near...
To Her. What am I gonna do?
To Her. She’ll see my whole life through.
To Her. I’ll take a chance or two.
To Her I’ll be near...
I’ll be pushing-all-my-hearts aside.
They’ll be playing-second-fiddle, I know I’ll be content inside.
When I find-the-one-to-whom... I confide.
She’ll know that there’s-a-part-of-her... that might bring me near...
To Her. What am I gonna do?
To Her. She’ll see my whole life through.
To Her. I’ll take a chance or two.
To Her I’ll be near...
And when my waiting-with-my-men... envisions you.
You’ll know my heart-has-found-again, and it’s piecing back to one from two.
With my opening-of-arms... it will be true.
I’ll be taking-on-the-world... but until I fall...
Until I fall for her...
What will my life become?
For Her. I’ll be the longing one.
For Her. I’ll make a chance and with it run.
For Her I’ll be here...
A to B Alone
m.j.jackson ©wfm 2001
A, A to B alone. Some wonder if I’ll ever, ever come on home.
I go, all upon my own - buying tickets, turning corners, it seeds the life I’ve grown.
Some wonder as I wander in the far away.
Some wonder as I wander in the far away.
I dine, dine on everyday. The visions are the food that fuel a coming day.
Tomorrow, what becomes my potion - is a river, or a forest, mountains, a roaring ocean.
But time, time is cast away. It is nothing. Dusk and dawn are mine to set each day.
And so, I wonder on. Finding places from my dreams - these pathways can’t be wrong.
Some wonder as I wander in the far away.
Some wonder as I wander in the far away.
My fill, could be here soon. So I take these moments, pocket them, for a rainy afternoon.
Reflections like in a mirror star. So long from A now - have I really come this far?
Wide River (Mann R)

Wide river with your rolling stones -
Guide me to a home, but keep me near.
A sandy road that follows you -
May it lead me too, and spare me thought.
I think of and see the things you bring -
And as your water sings, don’t rush into the sea.
Wide river with your rolling stones, guide me to a home.
Wide river with your rolling stones - guide me to a home.
Amongst high hills you cut your path -
And as nature’s wrath, it holds me in fear.
Diversions are your signature -
A winding map for the, guiding I sought.
Still your flow is ever long -
And as you soothe my song, never let me be.
Wide river with your rolling stones, guide me to a home.
Wide river with your rolling stones - guide me to a home.
The Short Fall (Hazchem)
m.j.jackson ©wfm 2001
Lovers, I think you missed that waterfall.
Beautiful and oh-so tall.
You’d fall in love again.
Wonderful, the scenery you left behind.
You turned your back or changed your mind.
While I found that there was more.
Trouble, the road ahead around the bend
A telling bell, the twisted end.
You would have missed it all.
Uncovered, the reasons why you came so far.
To fall just short - it caused alarm.
For I’ve seen it all before.
Lovers, love’s a fix but it won’t mend.
The things you pass up to life’s end.
You’d have missed it all again.

With a lot of time to yourself, you have a plenty to think and amuse yourself with. Your schedule is your own and rarely does anyone interrupt.
You also have a clearer mind once you are in a routine and/or in a daily rhythm, with your pedals turning over and over and over and over...
